My husband and I have been married 5 years. We have had a pretty bad marriage, he’s cheated on me more than once (no actual sex, but conversation/texting) along with lots of fighting because he won’t pull his weight financially or otherwise around the house. He’s also on house arrest due to a driving violation, which has made things worse. I’d finally had enough and we were making plans to separate, but last Friday the straw finally broke the camel’s back. He was drunk (he’s an alcoholic) and accused me and our daughter of hiding his wallet (we didn’t). Things escalated pretty quick and the kids and I left. In the meantime, he called the people that supervise his house arrest and told them he needed to move out while I was calling them to tell him he had to get out of my house. Obviously his drinking was a violation of his house arrest, so they took him to jail. Before he got hauled off to jail his girlfriend came to my home to pick up my husband and his stuff…guess her plans were ruined by him getting arrested. She maintains that she did nothing wrong, but what real woman comes to a married man’s home to pick him up, no matter the situation? Today my husband calls and tells me he wants us to go to counseling and work on our marriage. I say too little, too late!
